A ood agent doesn t need Understanding Women gadgets The onlyadgets I ve ever needed are a sharp eye sensitive hearing and a whole bunch of bigger brains Spoilers ahead I love a ood series as much as the next person In fact most of the books I read are part of a series I m so accustomed to reading a story from the series that I often think I see reoccurring ch a traitorous love In this volume the search for the leader of the secret hellfire club continues All our favourite Redgrave characters are here The threat of a Bonaparte inspired invasion is still present The family s investigation into its duplicitous treasonous and debauched past continues They continue the search for the journals the records of the society s members and plansTrixie and the faithful Richard Borders now married are once entrenched in the action as is KateOur interest is focused from the viewpoint of another member of the Redgrave cohort soldier and spy Maximillien Redgrave Devastated by the betrayal of his lover and companion Zoe Charbonneau now recognized as a double agent Max has infiltrated a smuggling ring En r 35 starsLoved Max and Zoe They were reat together I liked that Max was willing to talk to Zoe even after he thought she betrayed him But honestly he should have known she would never turn on him I was a little disappointed in him for that He was in love with her but was willing to believe the worst about her He did apologize but I don t know if a
Relationship Ever Really Gets ever really ets that so I don t know if I really believe that these two will have a HEA As far as the ongoing Society mystery it was wrapped up neatly in this book maybe too neatly It was a bit anticlimactic There was an epilogue but it didn t really bring any closure It was actually like a continuation of the last chapter I was expecting Like maybe seeing them et married or at least what happens to Rose or Adam I was expecting Like maybe seeing them The Way Between the Worlds (The View from the Mirror, get married or at least what happens to Rose or Adam in all not my favorite but not bad either If you read the entire series you will want to read this installment Well it is over it was areat ride and surprising ending except Anton was revealed from the beginning Of the four the second was best Of the individual Trixie was the bond We still were left with an imprecise reason for the Cooper s defection Angus dying was sad as he had narrative that should have been revealed as he was essential through husband and sonthe wrap up still did not explain how the plot was defeated as there were so many bonapartists loose in England Kasey Michaels did a Inverloch Volume 4 great job and her interlacing of the the Captain and Romney Marsh was a veryood plot line Have not finished all of that series yet but Michaels certainly has an excellent track record for he prolific output An insipid ending to a three star series A lovely conclusion to the Redgraves series What a Hero Dares was a wonderful romance I really enjoyed reading this book especially since I Desire and loyalty collide in the riveting conclusion to USA TODAY bestselling author Kasey Michaels's series about the Redgraves four siblings united by their legacy of scandal and seductionPunished for his father's crimes and scorned by society fearless soldier Maximillien Redgrave fights to protect England But his uest to restore his famil. Aves series closer In the final book of the Redgrave series it s up to second son Maximilian to finally put an end to the Society But there s some unfinished business
WITH HIS FORMER PARTNER AND LOVER CHLOE CHARBONNEAU BEFORE his former partner and lover Chloe Charbonneau before can take action I ve found this series a bit uneven but this was a The Good and Beautiful God great finale The second chance romance with Max and Chloe is perfect Meanwhile weet to see all the rest of the Redgraves and also some characters from my favorite of Ms Michaels s series in Romney Marsh The plot moves right along with lots of action as one might expect with two of England s top spies as the hero and heroine to a very satisfying conclusion The book starts out by dropping you right in the middle of the action and you just tumble headlong from there I don t think that having read the other three books will help there is a long page of exposition and while it does make sense that two brothers would be catching each other up on what each had been doing it still felt somehow forcedMaximillien why such a weird apparently French spelling Because his father was treasonous The timing seems off to name him after Robespierre and if that was the case why not spell it the same is the youngest son of the Redgraves While his family has been at home fighting a mysterious Society which is trying to help Napoleon defeat the British he has been working for the Crown
overseas When he thought that Zoe had betrayed him and four other agents he was devastated and started playing When he thought that Zoe had betrayed him and four other agents he was devastated and started playing a little too fast and loose for his family s likingZoe had a ood reason for writing the letter that claimed she was uilty of the crimes Max believed of her And she spent many months in a French prison for just that reason But she ot out and started working for Tallyrand according to Wikipedia he was a crafty and cynical diplomat for many of the regimes in France including Napoleon s though he really strove to provide peace in his country than to further any cause Now she s on Max s ancestral estate and they are working together to defeat the last of the SocietyI thought the first book in the series was the best This one brought a close to the four books but not with as much flair as they began I m surprised to find that the copyright for this book was 2014 since it really reminds me of Mallery s earlier books than her latest effortsview spoilerNormally I like reading about two people who are close to or already in love but I just couldn t connect with Max and Zoe They thought they were in love then Max all to easily believed she betrayed him and then magically believed she hadn t It seemed so fast that all of this story happened within the first 20 or so pages of the storyAnd for all of the action at the beginning the end was strangely flat You start out with a fight scene and end with the enemy killing themselves so the heroes had nothing to do hide spoiler. T to find Zoe on his shipBelieved to be a double agent for England and France Zoe must clear her name in order to save her life Convincing Max of her innocence seems impossible until inescapable desire tempts them both to trust and love again But a circle of enemies is closing in and their time together might run out before they outrun danger.
