This was something of an experiment for me to see if I liked itI really really idn tI found there was far too much time spent City of Big Shoulders describing a characters inner thoughts andetailing every tiny change of expression on their face and far too little time spent on Blind Devotion (The Shifter Chronicles developing the plot andialogue Not for me This book had some really great banter between the hero and heroine but absolutely nothing else going for it It was not a very well written book It lacked character My Name is Bob development sceneryescription and substance I could not get into the story or take an interest in the romance because those vital things were missing from the book Great ialogue but not much in terms of substance for this to be a satisfying read Worth a read for the repartee between the hero and heroine but on t expect great romance or to be given enough substance to really care about either of the characters I ramble about this book a great Billy Bragg deal in theiscussion thread here Decent but I thought it lacked a bit of tensionconflict between the hero and the heroine The heroine also seemed to have a massive over reaction to something that happened when she was a teenager Although I suppose that having received no counselling it could have lingered on for years and she just got stuck in a rut I also felt like I would have liked to know about the hero s history He was pretty melodramatic Still he was an interesting Polly Prices Totally Secret Diary different sort of hero Iid like the way they were together and how they helped each other The hero of this book is Lucas the 2nd eldest of the Wolfe siblings he has lived the majority of his adult life as a playboy it guy and all round arling of the tabloids After a run in with his eldest brother Jacob Lucas ecides to accept a job as a figurehead for a world famous The Majors Daughter department store that has past connections with his family where he meets Grace the heroine Grace is busy planning the store s upcoming centenary and relaunch celebrations andoesn t have the time or Miss Shumway Waves a Wand desire to babysit Lucas whom she has nothing but contempt for Grace has worked hard to get where she is after her childhood growing up in a trailer park andue to a isturbing incident when she was a teenager she has learnt to only rely on herself and cultivated an ice ueen image It oesn t take long for Lucas to realise he wants Grace but gets only frustrated by her constant rebuffs and his increasing need for herThis book had me at hello I literally read it in one sitting One of the first things that struck me in this book is the fantastic On His Majestys Service dialogue between the characters it was full of wit and sass especially from Grace this was very enjoyable to read The characters are well crafted and beautifully written At first I couldn t warm to Lucas he seemed lazy and unnecessarily antagonistic I was agreeing with every one of Grace s negative opinions As the story progressed I found myself liking him and just as Grace fell and in love with him to me this shows how strong and emotive the writing is Grace was a great heroine she was strong and ambitious yes she was a little uptight and cold but that suited her with heretermination to become a success Different Class despite her origins My favourite element to this book is theevelopment of the relationship it was very honest The HEA is immensely satisfying in that there are no sappy overblown The Essential Good Food Guide declarations of love followed by a proposal instead it was two people whoidn t have the greatest starts in life
agreeing they love one another and saying hey they love one another and saying hey s give it a go apologies if that s spoilerishA great book and I can t wait to read of this series Originally posted at Absolutely enjoyed the Lucas Grace storystarts with Jacob meeting Lucas and tries to make
Him Understand By All understand by all things he Textbook of Wisdom does you are turning into him the way Lucas hides behind the facade of mackery and careless attitude but he was most affected by pastemonshe never knew who his mother was but when he came to know he was so shocked and the things William Wolfe said made such a great impact on him which has made him belief he is the most ugly person and the guilt of not being there for his brothers sister but then he meets Grace who also has suffered her mother s rejection which changes her her so much completely understands what Lucas feels and she makes him belief that he is not uglyit was the circumstances he is not a bad person Then when Grace confesses she loves him he panics and runs away but then he meet Jacob who finally makes him understand that says You In Defence of Dogs deserve from life than to makeyoursel 3 35 starsIecided to knock another book out from The Notorious Wolfes series and ecided to tackle the story of Lucas Wolfe the tortured bad boy playboy with a seemingly charming carefree lifestyle Now I have to say that I am about 50 50 about this book with some parts I liked and some parts I just idn t like or get into And I was a bit isappointed with this story to be honest Was expecting a lot First all I felt that book kind of started off really slow and was honestly boring me a bit that I had to begin skimming over the words just so I could make it through and get to the good part The first half was really all set up of the story and the characters and their issues but it seemed forever to get through which wasn t a good thing There was just so much focus on Lucas being this playboy that could charm off the panties of anyway with his killer looks and smile and could really charm any one While Grace was this prim and proper woman who was really good at her job and vowed to keep control at all times in her life and be seen in the eyes of the world as a hard seen in the eyes of the world as a hard respectable woman Plus even though she was attracted to Lucas she wanted to avoid him at all cost and resist his charms espite the fact that he was heavily flirting with her and trying actively to get her in his bed with smoldering looks and very suggestive innuendos She Revenge (The Red Ledger didn t want to be another notch on Lucas s bedpost so sheenied the attraction she had towards him Of coarse it made it impossible to ignore when they were worki. Lucas Playboy Rebel RogueNo one enies Lucas anything Women fall at his feet and into his bed at the click of his fingers His life is charmed reckless.
characters Î eBook or Kindle ePUB ✓ Caitlin CrewsNg so closely together on this galaAnd even though there was this sexy banter and back and forth in the beginning to create the lovely sexual tension I just wasn t wowed or overly thrilled by it There was just no excitement behind it or I idn t feel like there was I just wanted to feel a bit of that in my bones and just feel like I was reading words on a page of this constant back and forth that lasted again forever and it was the same thing over and over again with Lucas wanting her and Grace constantly pushing him away by using her icy persona that the world knew It was just flat for meI will say that I enjoyed the character of Lucas He was very charming and sexy Just his little suggestive comments were outrageous and he had a lot a gall putting it out there like that but that was what I liked about him and one of the things I liked about the book was him He charmed me and I thought it was humorous to see him try to win over the prim and proper Grace I thought he was very funny but at the same time like Grace spotted early on was his playboy persona was much of mask and hiding the pain of what he ealt with in his ifficult childhood And I could tell that he hurt Penguins Poems for Life deeply and wasealing pain and the only way he could survive ay to ay was by living by the persona that he set up as a worthless playboy So I enjoyed seeing his character being portrayed The book picked up around the time of the party where they had their first makeout session and sparks flew for both of them after not have given into this attraction for most of the book It was explosive and efinitely held my interest with that hot little kiss and I think I was glad that the whole ragging out of will they won t they was finally over It just seemed forever to get to this point It was almost too long But that s where I was focused on the book and enraptured by itThe chemistry between them Divine Beauty during both the makeout session and the love scene were hot as passions were finally released I loved the scene between the two of them when they finallyecide to Fear and Loathing at Rolling Stone do theeed with Grace being sure that the only way she could handle that type of relationship between them was if she took control of the situation Of coarse Lucas was the one in control and only allowed her to have the control later on after he was satisfied with making her loose control It was nice to see her let Down to the Sea in Ships down her hair and literally loose control I could sense that she was finally free andidn t have to live in the constrains of what her past mistakes were She could enjoy just being a woman and being in the arms of a Wife by Wednesday (The Weekday Brides, desirable man that she wanted since the moment she met him And that just made the scene hotterI will say I was kind ofisappointed there was only one big love scene after there build up for pages after pages about this attraction between them and how both wanted each other but wouldn t given in on her side than his side and just this build up of tension all the way through until they had the explosive love scene together but I was expecting maybe at least one One that focused on the emotional aspect of their relationship than just the lust side and the want they had for each other physically I mean there was
emotion in the first scene but it was clouded by the passion that needed to bein the first scene but it was clouded by the passion that needed to be So I thought there might have been a scene were the passion was there but there were emotional ties to it and intimacy and closeness Not that they Dog Years didn t have closeness and sharing and stuff but that was in the aftermath of a love scene that wasn t shown than anything else And even though theyid help each other and help other heal and grow as people I wasn t totally sold on their romance I felt that there was just so much focus on them wanting each other and Chain of Fire dealing with their past hurts that there were really no time for romance I wasn t rooting for them as a couple even though Iid want them to have happiness in their life I just felt they The Devils Elbow (Mrs. Bradley, didn t fit as a couple for whatever reason Now them having a little fling sure but a great romance not so much There was just something missing for me in the love story aspect Maybe because there was tension but no real angst or something to effect I justidn t feel that rawness that no real angst or something to effect I just The Making of a Caribbeanpreneur didn t feel that rawness that expect when reading a romance novel I just wasn t thrilled with them as a coupleThe ending was a little bit unsatisfying for me as well Yes they healed some past hurts but their relationship wasefinitely an unknown uality of whether they got their happy ending or not since conditions were placed on it and it just idn t feel right Though I will say that it made for a bit realism that they wanted to see where everything went before committing anything at least on his end and not spouting about of lies of feelings that he had for her but letting her know that he wanted to try with her and usually I am all of believability and not rushing into anything and believing the hero truly loves the hero or not because sometimes just feel forced and that s unsatisfying But this also was unsatisfying with
the realism I guess it was just the way Lucas id orrealism I guess it was just the way Lucas Kuduz did or it that Iidn t like or maybe it was the fact that I needed to see Lucas come around a little emotionally to the softer side of his feelings for her maybe not love but caring of some sort I just felt he was analytical and practical about the whole thing when his character was anything but Maybe that s what it was it was out character for him of how he acted in the end and I just idn t get it Just the ending idn t go well for me and left me very The Stanforth Secrets (Lovers and Ladies, disappointed Expected a lot from these two especially all the stuff that they went through in the book and how they were honest with one another and only with one anotherOverall this book was just okay for me I thought the beginning was way toorawn out with lots of repeating going on with them not giving into their attraction for one another It would have been okay if something interesting happened or they appeared to get closer and closer emotional than I think it would have been fine but.
